A great money saving idea for landlords

LANDLORDS - SAVE TIME & MONEY - PICK YOUR OWN LOCKS!

Tired of shelling out good money for locksmiths after tenants have gone with the keys or they've changed the locks?

Now you can save a bundle of time and money by doing it yourself!

We sell lock picks to landlords across the UK and the costs saved have been enormous. The UK lock picks are designed for UK locks and with a little bit of practice you'll be amazed how quick it can be. We have a free 49 page guide to lock picking in our help guides so have a read and see what you think.

For anyone with a lot of properties this site could save you thousands of pounds a year.

WHAT WOULD WE RECOMMEND?

The ideal collection for Landlords would be the Snap Gun (LAT-17) and the 22 piece slim line set (C2010). Once you have some practise with the Snap Gun you’ll find on locks that can be picked the snap gun should open it in just a few seconds. If that fails then use the slim line set as a last resort.

MORTICE PICKS?

We don’t sell the mortice picks because the cheap ones only work on 2 and 3 lever locks which no-one uses anymore. For 5+ lever locks you would need to buy the picks from each manufacture and a complete set runs into the thousands which is why in Landlord's cases we ’d recommend a drill :)

DO THEY REALLY WORK?

Some makes are easier to pick than others so you might want to install ones you know you can pick as the need arises. If you have a lot of Yale type locks with security pins then these two videos I made of me picking a Yale will be very helpful. The URL is:

http://www.lock-pick.co.uk/faq.htm

And the two videos you need to watch are:

- How to detect security pins (7Mb avi)

- How to use a tension wrench on security Pins (7Mb avi)

Here is a quick summary based on their usefulness:

5 to 11 piece - Useful to see if you will enjoy it. Won't open as many locks as other sets but a good choice for a Christmas or birthday present and for people wanting to see if they will enjoy it.

15 to 37 piece - These pick sets contain far more tension tools which is very important because you'll find you'll be using all of them. They also contain picks not found in the smaller sets which do a great job at opening locks.

69 to 74 piece - The 69 piece standard set contains both standard and slimline lock picks, a warded pick set and 8 tension tools. There are no duplicates in this set and it is without a doubt an awesome set to own. Because some people have slightly more problems with slimline sets this set gives you the very best of both worlds.

We also have mechanical and electrical picks for faster entry in our quick entry section.
